We live in a culture that rewards more: more output, more hustle, more push. The body is designed to handle stress.
But without recovery, it erodes you.

Resilience is the active, adaptive process of engaging with stress and finding your way back to center. It’s not a personality trait. It’s a skill. And it’s the essential foundation for genuine health, connection, and well-being in every area of your life.

Each program focuses on building that capacity through straightforward, accessible practices based on your goals. You’ll build the tangible skills to take back control of your physiology and fundamentally reshape your relationship with stress.

The Programs

This is a comprehensive, one-on-one program built to help you develop a resilient physiological foundation. Using a structured, data-informed process, we build a personalized toolkit for navigating stress, burnout, or optimizing your capacity under pressure. This work integrates three core pillars: nervous system regulation, breath science, and sleep optimization.

Key Outcomes:

  • Increased Heart Rate Variability (HRV) >> Adaptability
  • Refined Air Hunger Sensitivity & CO2 Optimization >> Composure
  • Enhanced Sleep Quality & Daily Energy >> Vitality
  • Sharper Interoceptive Awareness >> Connection

This is a specialized, trauma-informed practice designed to safely explore and release stored emotional energy. Through deep, rhythmic connected breathing, we create the conditions for genuine emotional processing, the integration of past experiences, and the dismantling of deeply held reactivity and behavioural patterns.

Key Outcomes:

  • Enhanced Emotional Processing >> Clarity
  • Trauma Processing & Integration >> Agency
  • Steadier Nervous System Regulation >> Stability
  • Greater Stress Adaptation & Resilience >> Capacity

Sleep is the non-negotiable bedrock of all health and performance. This 4-session, targeted protocol is the essential first step if your progress is held back by poor rest. Through breath-based and HRV-informed practices, we reset your body’s natural cycles and rebuild the conditions for truly restorative sleep.

Key Outcomes:

  • Resetting of Natural Sleep/Circadian Cycles >> Balance
  • Elevated Sleep Quality >> Restoration
  • Reduced Nighttime Anxiety >> Stillness
  • Enhanced Daytime Energy & Focus >> Clarity

For Recovery

The path of recovery is demanding, deeply personal, and never linear. Sustainable change requires more than willpower.
It requires a stable foundation. And that foundation starts with learning to work with your body, not against it.

Drawing from lived experience and my work as a recovery coach (CCRC), I provide a unique, somatically based framework for embodied recovery. My approach integrates the core skills of stress resilience, nervous system regulation, breath science, and sleep management, to help you build a stable system to support your recovery.

Each program below works to put that framework into practice.

The Programs

This program provides the latticework of foundational stress resilience. Built for your recovery. Through nervous system regulation, breath science, and sleep optimization, we build a personalized protocol to support your physiological foundation allowing the rest of your recovery work to stick.

This path is purely our resilience programming. It does not include addiction or recovery-based coaching. It’s designed for those who already have a path in place and want a dedicated somatic layer to add depth and stability to the work they’re already doing.

Key Outcomes + Benefits:

  • Increased capacity for stress / improved HRV.
  • A dynamic toolkit based on your unique physiology and goals.
  • A somatic component for whole-body stability.
  • A science-based protocol to re-engage with your nervous system.

This is a personalized, integrated partnership that combines the supportive structure of Certified Recovery Coaching with the deep stability of foundational nervous system regulation.

We work together to create a specific, actionable plan: whether managing behaviors, building healthy habits, or navigating life post-treatment. By developing real body ownership, you gain the internal tools to work with your own signals, redefine triggers, and meet stress from a place of grounded strength.

Key Benefits:

  • A personalized & actionable recovery plan.
  • Tools to manage the felt sensations, triggers & cravings.
  • Strategies to navigate social & life challenges.
  • A supportive & accountable partnership.

Sometimes the most important work happens outside of a session, in the moments when life actually shows up.

Sober Companioning is dedicated, in-person support for those who need a steady, grounded presence as they navigate the early or critical stages of their recovery. Whether you’re stabilizing before treatment, landing after it, or choosing a personal path outside of a traditional program. This is structured, accountable, real-world support.

Together we build daily routines, develop practical regulation skills, and work through whatever arises, in the moment, as it happens. The goal is not just stability, but the kind of body ownership that carries forward long after our time together.

Engagements are flexible and tailored to your context and timeline.

Key Outcomes + Benefits:

  • Immediate, in-person support in life’s hardest moments.
  • A steady, grounded presence through early recovery.
  • Practical routines and regulation skills built into daily life.
  • Lasting body ownership that carries beyond our time together.

Engagement Durations:

  • Short-Term Support (1 day – 1 week): For specific events or challenges.
  • Long-Term Engagements (30+ days): For sustained progress and integration.
  • Live-In Arrangements: Intensive, 24/7 in-home support.

About Me

I’m Trevor, a stress resilience, breath, and recovery coach based in Toronto.

For a long time, my relationship with stress was reactive: my system was answering questions before they were even asked. Over time, reactivity became avoidance, avoidance became numbing, and numbing cost me: in my relationships, in my life, in who I was. I needed something practical: something that could meet the intensity of the moment and actually build stability in my life.

When I started working with my breath, my relationship with myself and my stress began to change. I found a real lever into a system that had been running on autopilot for years.

Chronic stress isn’t just a mental experience. It settles into the body and the nervous system, and over time it shapes the patterns we use to protect ourselves. These patterns take hold because the system rarely gets the chance to stand down. Most of this happens automatically, below conscious awareness. The breath is where that changes. It’s the only automatic process we can also consciously control. That’s what makes it the most precise lever we have.

Stress + Recovery Coaching Toronto

Homebase is where that science becomes practice. The work is structured, data-informed, and built around your physiology, not a generic protocol. The goal is to help you understand your own system, track what’s shifting, and build the capacity to meet stress before it meets you.

I work at the speed of your nervous system, and we start wherever you are. The practices we build together are woven into your existing life, not added on top of it. Consistent, specific to your system, and built to last.

If you’ve tried things that never quite reached the problem, you’re in the right place.

Frequently Asked Questions

General

Homebase is a coaching method focused on building physiological resilience. We help you recalibrate your nervous system and reclaim your baseline so you can navigate life without the constant friction of high stress. It is about building the internal capacity and body ownership needed to meet intensity with natural calm and composure.

Homebase is for anyone seeking to move from a state of reactivity to one of steady capacity. It is specifically designed for those navigating the friction of chronic stress, burnout, or the complexities of addiction recovery. We meet you where you are, whether you are looking to optimize your performance under pressure or stabilize your foundation post-treatment. If you have a nervous system, there is a place for you here.

Stress management often relies on external coping strategies: managing the environment. Resilience is an internal, physiological approach. We recalibrate your nervous system’s baseline, fundamentally changing how your body adapts to stress as it happens.

Your breath is the most accessible lever you have to influence your autonomic nervous system. By training your breathing, you gain real-time control over your physiological state, which is the foundation for both mental and physical resilience.

Our coaching sessions are practical, holistic, and focused on the following pillars:

Functional Breathing Training:
To fix mechanics and improve how your body aligns and moves air.

Nervous System Regulation:
To lower systemic arousal and help you find a state of steady calm.

Sleep Optimization:
To ensure your body is properly repairing and resetting at night.

Personal Stress Mapping:
Understanding the “why” behind your body’s responses so you can lead your own resilience.

Mindfulness and Awareness Tools:
Accessible practices using the breath as a steady anchor to sense, track, and navigate your internal state.

Personalized Programming:
Each session is tailored to your specific needs, ensuring the work is always relevant to you.

Time commitment varies by program. You can expect 10-20 minutes of daily practice for the Optimal Breath + Resilience/Somatic programs, which is integrated into your routine through habit stacking.

You can expect to feel tangible shifts within a few weeks, with many clients noticing significant stress reduction in as little as 1-2 weeks. This work requires commitment. Engaging with the process will allow you to cultivate profound and lasting changes.

A Stack represents the duration and depth of our work together. Offered in 6, 8, and 12-session tiers within the Optimal Breath + Resilience and Somatic Recovery programs, a Stack allows you to choose the level of immersion that aligns with your specific goals and current systemic load.

The Stacks: Optimal Breath + Resilience / Somatic Recovery

Foundations/Regulation, 6 Sessions:
Designed to establish a stable physiological baseline. This work focuses on breathing efficiency, nervous system safety, and sleep architecture to address core anxiety and stress.

Steady State/Capacity, 8 Sessions:
Aimed at building adaptability and capacity. This builds upon foundational work by strengthening your internal composure and sharpening your State Awareness for greater steadiness under pressure.

Resilience/Integration, 12 Sessions:
A comprehensive path focused on deep, whole-system integration. This stack addresses systemic recovery, mind-body processing, and habit retraining to fundamentally reshape your relationship with stress.

Yes. We offer a specific Sleep Protocol designed as a base-layer intervention. This isn’t about “sleep hygiene” tips, it is a physiological reset focused on restoring your natural cycles and stabilizing your nervous system through targeted breathing mechanics and biochemical regulation.

Sleep is your primary engine for systemic repair. If your sleep architecture is compromised, your body remains in a state of chronic alarm, making long-term resilience impossible. We prioritize sleep early in the process to move your physiology out of “debt” and into a state where it can integrate the work.

Coaching is primarily virtual, allowing you to participate from wherever you are. For those in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), there are also options for in-person sessions.

Recovery based sessions are offered virtually and in-person.

To discuss in-person Recovery Coaching or Companioning, please book a complimentary 60-min consultation call.

Integrative Breath sessions are offered online, in-person, and in groups (GTA only).

Most apps aren’t informed of the complex context of an individual’s history, current health, and systemic load. Because the nervous system is highly specific, there is no “universal” protocol. A popular high-intensity technique might benefit a healthy, resilient system, but the same input could drive a depleted system further into alarm. This work prioritizes your unique data over general trends, focusing on what stabilizes your specific physiology.

For Recovery

This work is for anyone in addiction recovery, at any stage. There are three ways in:

  • Somatic Recovery Support: A foundational layer of physiological stability to support the work you’re already doing.
  • Recovery Coaching: A structured coaching partnership to help you navigate your recovery.
  • Sober Companioning: Dedicated in-person support through critical stages of recovery.

Trauma-informed means I was trained to recognize the signs of held trauma and to hold a steady, grounded presence for whatever arises in a session, without forcing, interpreting, or pushing beyond what your system is ready to integrate. The pace is always set by your nervous system, not a protocol.

Addiction often causes a disconnection from your body’s signals. Body ownership is the process of regaining accurate internal awareness. When you can sense and regulate what is happening inside you, you move from being a passenger of your impulses to being the driver of your own state.

Recovery often focuses on behavior and mindset. This program focuses on the body underneath it. Through nervous system regulation, breath science, and sleep optimization, we stabilize your physiology. That gives whatever recovery plan you’re using an actual foundation. If you already have a recovery team in place, this fills the piece most plans miss: teaching your body to manage cravings and triggers, not just your mind. The goal is body ownership, not just behavior change.

It is a personalized, integrated partnership that combines the supportive structure of Certified Recovery Coaching with the deep stability of foundational nervous system regulation. We focus on building the lasting internal capacity needed to work with your body’s signals and redefine triggers and stress on your road to recovery.

Sober Companioning provides dedicated, in-person support where I am physically present to support your path. My role goes beyond companionship: I am there to help you actively build and integrate your own foundation of calm, embedding the practical skills of physiological regulation into your daily life.

This is a foundational component that works alongside and complements therapy and other recovery modalities. We focus on building the physiological resilience that supports the psychological and behavioral work you are already doing, all within a recovery-focused container.

Book a complimentary 60-minute consultation. We can discuss how the process works and how stress resilience is woven into a body-centered approach for the road of recovery.

For Life

This programming is designed for any nervous system that has lost its ability to return to center. From managing daily anxiety to navigating the complexities of burnout, this pathway provides a data-led approach to reclaiming your internal state. It is for anyone ready to move away from a state of constant reactivity and toward a foundation of reliable, long-term resilience.

Here are a few specific examples of who this is for:

  • High Stress & Tension: You are getting things done, but you are operating in a state of constant high-alert. You feel functional but exhausted, and you’ve noticed a loss of natural clarity and focus.
  • Anxiety & Panic: You experience racing thoughts, breathlessness, or sudden physical spikes. You feel like a passenger to your own stress responses. This work builds the body ownership to change that: the ability to read what your body is telling you and meet it with intention rather than react on autopilot.
  • Burnout & Exhaustion: You’ve hit the wall or feel it approaching. This is for when you are systemically depleted and need to rebuild your capacity so you can stay engaged without the constant friction.
  • Chronic Stress: You aren’t in a panic, but you have no “buffer” left. Your internal volume is perpetually high, making even small daily demands feel like a major tax on your system.
  • Performance & Composure: You handle pressure well but want to do it more efficiently. You are looking for ways to stay steady and connected during high-stakes moments without the metabolic crash afterward.

In short, if you are navigating chronic stress, poor sleep, or anxiety and want to move from a state of reactivity back to a state of body ownership, this is your lane.

Integrative Breath

This is an intensive, trauma-informed style of Conscious Connected Breathwork. While foundational protocols focus on daily regulation and mind-body connection, this practice is designed to explore and release stored emotional energy, integrate past experiences, and dismantle deeply held reactivity and behavioural patterns.

This work serves as a deeper layer of the curriculum. Once the nervous system has established a stable baseline through the foundational phases, Integrative Breathwork allows for a more profound exploration of the mind-body experience.

Sessions are typically 1.5 hours, allowing for welcome and framing discussion, 1 hour of active breathing, and 30 minutes for discussion and integration.

The Process:

Consultation & Intention:
Every engagement begins with a brief consultation to discuss your goals and review medical and lifestyle precautions.

Physiological Assessment:
Together, we assess whether the practice is right for your system at this time, ensuring the intensity of the session supports your current state.

Session Delivery:
Sessions are built around your specific needs and can be conducted individually or in small groups of up to four. Available both online and in person.

Conscious Connected Breathing (CCB) is a deep rhythmic practice where there are no pauses between the inhale and the exhale. It is a cyclical style of intentional open mouth breathing. This technique bypasses the analytical mind to engage directly with the body’s physiological and emotional state, providing a path to process stored tension and explore internal patterns.

See Terms + Safety section.

Terms + Safety

This work is guided by the professional standards of the CACCF and the Global Professional Breathwork Alliance (GPBA). As a Canadian Certified Recovery Coach (CCRC) and an internationally certified Breath Science Practitioner, I utilize these frameworks to ensure our sessions are grounded and safe. This allows us to calibrate the intensity of the work to best support your nervous system.

To get the most out of our work together, we encourage you to follow these simple guidelines for your practice.

Practice in a Safe Environment

It’s always best to practice in a comfortable, quiet space where you can focus without distractions, whether sitting or lying down.

Practice with Awareness

We build your practice step-by-step. Please only engage in the techniques we have covered together.

A Note on Advanced Techniques

Some specific, advanced practices (like strong breath holds or deep, continuous breathing) have important safety rules. These particular techniques should never be practiced in or near water, while driving, or operating machinery. We will always clearly identify these advanced methods for you. The vast majority of our foundational resilience work does not fall into this category.
